Question : I have a large yellowish cyst like thing on my tonsils that just appeared. Looking online I found stuff saying it is probably a mucous cyst.
I went to an ENT and he has me concerned because he wants to do a CT scan and biopsy.
Should I be concerned?

I sincerely apologize for the delay in answering the query.

Thanks for posting the image. I have examined the image thoroughly and I am of the opinion that the swelling could be either a tonsillar cyst or a mucocele. I doubt any malignancy.

But, it would be wiser to get the cyst excised, as it is quite big in size. Frankly, I would not suggest a CT Scan at this stage.
