Question: Hello I had a question about my sperm, it seems when I ejaculate, I have some weird jelly like substance in it, it is yellowish and clumpy, it has been like this for a while. I wondered if it was something serious.

Hello
Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have noticed jelly like clusters in your semen.

This is due to agglutination (Clumping) of sperms due to infection either in seminal vesicle or prostate.

Please get Semen analysis done to confirm the diagnosis ..

You need to take antibiotics like combination of Sulphamethoxazole and Trimethoprim and anti inflammatory drugs like Diclofenac twice daily for a month.

Repeat semen analysis after completion of taking medications.

Do not worry this is not a serious issue and will get resolved .

Would it be possible for this infection to be around for years? I have had this issue for at least two years.

Thanks for follow up.Agglutination of the sperms occurs due to presence of sperm antibodies and the c most common cause is infection which may be chronic one .
Please take treatment suggested earlier and repeat semen analysis after one month.
