Brief Answer:
Mildly elevated Liver enzymes -SGOT and SGPT.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM

I have gone through your query. Your liver enzymes SGOT and SGPT are mildly elevated. Along with this and fatty liver from ultrasound states that your liver is getting damaged gradually. This can be most likely due to continuous alcohol intake. But your other functions of liver are not compromised.
If you still take alcohol then there is chance of further damage and compromise of whole liver function. If you stop taking alcohol completely then your liver will regenerate gradually at this stage.
A complete abstinence from alcohol and healthy life style will help you to get a normal liver back from this stage.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

Thank you so much doctor for the reply. Im not sure how it works but I did upload my lft report, I hope you have gone thru the same. Just a couple of questions

1. Is it possible that excessive intake of alcohol over a short period of 3 to 4 months has caused the levels to rise? I do not Binge regularly.
2. If I want to continue enjoying alcohol, how many months of abstinence would allow me to do so?
3 what more could I do to improve my lever health.

Brief Answer:
Yes I had gone through the reports.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up.

I had gone through your reports. Liver has high power of regeneration. But if completely damaged then this is not possible. When liver cells get damaged it will be replaced by fatty degeneration which gives a fatty liver. From your reports other parameters like albumin globulin ratio is normal which shows still your liver function is not compromised. But if continuous damage happens then it can get compromised.
1. yes extensive intake of alcohol for that short period can be the reason for this.
2. You need 4 to 6 months abstinence from alcohol to get your liver normalized. You can check your liver enzymes an ultrasound after that.
3. Eat healthy and nutritious diet. Taking vitamin C is also good. Include citrus fruits and greens in your diet. Drink more plain water. Get proper sleep and stress relaxation. You can also take liver tonics or silimaryn tablets.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
