default
Posted on Tue, 28 Nov 2017
Question: i am experiencing irreg heart rhythm not the first time. bp higher tnan normal. diastolic no. in 80s and 90s 136/88 or 165/94 bp goes up and down. lots of stress lately due to relationship ending. my dr prescribed clonidine if it gets 180/90 but i am hesitant. lorazepam works but is habit forming so i dont like to use it. it works great. no appointments available with cardiologists. frustrated. shd i go to emergency room to push for more complete diagnosis? dont want to assume tnings. irreg beat has been going on intermittently for a week unless i do lorazepam. have used .5 mg three times in past week.

Brief Answer:
Cardiac evaluation is needed

Detailed Answer:
Hello Ma'am

After going through the medical details provided by you I would like to tell you that taking into consideration your symptoms as well your age group it's advisable that you should personally consult a cardiologist once to get yourself properly examined and evaluated.

As your blood pressure fluctuations could be possibly due to stress which is ongoing but the irregular heart rate needs attention as it could possibly be sone kind of rhythm abnormality which could be happening transiently.

So atleast get an ecg done possibly at the time of irregular heart beats and consult your primary physician regarding this.

I hope this information will guide you properly.

Kind regards
Dr Bhanu partap
