Hep B Surface Antibody is Reactive (HBsAg) is 258.82, but the surface Antigen is non-reactive
Please, if you can shed some light on this. The doctors already took out my gallbladder just to find it was in great condition. It seems, all the docs do is order more of the same tests. Im assuming to watch for flux. No one, from doctor to doctor, can tell me anything!!
I'm feeling worn out a good amount of the time and my memory has been not so good, but that's about it for symptoms.
Please help shed some light if you can. I'm running out of ideas and I'm starting to not care about finding an answer any longer due to being sent from doc to doc with no explanation of why my levels are high.
Thank you!!!
Need to have full tests reports:blood tests/ultrasound scanning....
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
1. Having a hep B surface antibody reactive means that you are immune to future hep B infection. For the moment, you have successfully responded to hep B vaccine.
The surface antigen is non-reactive means that you have not faced hep B infection. So, infectious hepatitis is not a cause.
2. Your liver enzymes levels are really high. Taking into account your previous history of smoking , that could be a possible cause.
3. Your cholesterol levels are high too, I mean "total cholesterol" and LDL cholesterol. That makes me think that your liver might have become fatty. An abdominal ultrasound is needed to understand the structure of liver.
4. Your ferritin level is also increased. It means that you have problems with storing too much iron. This is a condition called hemochromatosis. It might be hereditary or due to other problems like liver inflammation.
5. Rheumatoid diseases should be also excluded too. That's why I need to have your full blood tests reports to get them analyzed and give a more precise opinion.
Looking forward to have your full tests reports (blood tests, ultrasound scanning, etc.).

I have had ultrasounds with no flags. I have been tested for fatty liver and this also was negative. I have tested at 17.9 for RA Latex Turbid. I have also been tested for Hered. Hemochromatosis, DNA, which showed no mutation identified.
Ive had the Actin Antibody test and it came back at 8, negative.
I do have 8 different lab testing results with lots of tests on them. Could you possibly ask for specific lab results and I will see if it was done?
Do you, with the information I have listed on this reply, have any ideas on where to go from here? Or any ideas what may be going on?
Thank you for your time! I will scan all results if needed. But, as I said, there are quite a bit and many pages per testing. If you could ask for specific tests, I will look to see if it/they have been done.
Thank you again!
Suggested to run anti-HCV & diet to reduce cholesterol numbers...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
I was reviewing your medical data again, and so far, you did not mention any test like anti HCV. If not in your lab reports, then, I advise to run this test to rule out hep C.
Next, I highly recommend to start making some changes in your diet to improve your cholesterol numbers:
- no refined sugar
- no fatty foods
- no processed foods
- more physical activity
- get more fresh fruits and vegetables
Looking forward to have the requested blood tests reports in!

I'm concerned at the inflammation marker Lp-Pla2 at 399, and the high Ferritin and low UIBC. It seems that I have a lot of inflammation in my body based on the level of the Lp-Pla2 (?). Also, starting yesterday, I've been experiencing pin-like pricking sensations in my right foot and mainly my big toe; almost like a bug bite or needles being pushed into the tip of my toe. It woke me up a few times during the night.
I have a lab appointment coming up next week: are you able to advise me on any specific tests I may want to have done?
Thank you for your time and thoughts.
Following tests to exclude CMV/EBV/sarcoidosis
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
I am happy to know that your diet is including healthy foods. That will help reduce your cholesterol numbers and the risk for cardio-vascular events.
Lp-Pla2 is an indicator for atherosclerosis disease; also showing inflammation.
The presence of high Ferritin and low UIBC are also indicating an inflammatory illness.
Taking all these into account, I can think over (chronic) infectious diseases including:
- cytomegalovirus (CMV)
- mononucleosis/Epstein-Barre virus
- sarcoidosis
So, I'd suggest to discuss with your doctor to run specific tests to rule out these pathologies:
- white blood cells count
- antibodies testing
- chest X-ray
- spirometry (respiratory function test).
Hope it was of help!
