Brief Answer:
Depends on severity of symptoms, clinical examination required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in Healthcaremagic.com.
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.

I understand your concern.
The treatment would depend upon your severity and duration of symptoms.
If you have mild symptoms, I believe you can try oral antibiotics and if not effective, IV antibiotics can be started. Also, a clinical examination is important to check your current status.
You have been taking cefixime since last 2 days. The general course is for 5-7 days. So, you have a few days of this antibiotic left.
You have also done ultrasound which reveals mild prostatomegaly. At your age, benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH is uncommon, so prostatitis can be a differential diagnosis.
So kindly give a detailed history of your symptoms, duration and whether you have experienced the same previously. Some more details will help me to come to a conclusion and I would be able to help you further.
Lastly, a doctor has examined you and decided the above, because he/she has thought it would be the best option for you. So, you can definitely rely on your doctor and follow as he/she has advised.

Get back to me with the answers. Also get an urine analysis done if possible. Drink lots of water and oral fluids.

Hope I have answered your question.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.
