Question : Hi Doctor, my age is 38yrs. and last Mens. date is 26th August 2016. Recently in Ultrasound, I m diagnosed with Complex cyst in left ovary 27x26x20 mm volume 8.0 cc with "internal echoes". On Doppler, no significant internal vascularity noted. Also, Mild free fluid is seen in POD. [Right ovary is normal in size 28x28x15 mm, volume 6.7 cc, whereas Left Ovary is bulky in size 34x34x25 mm, volume 15.6 cc & that shows the complex cyst-- I mentioned above].
(in Uterus, normal in size 76x42x66 mm and echotexture, Anteverted. Endometrial thickness is 9.8mm and shows a thin streak of fluid in the endometrial cavity. No mass lesion is seen. Cervix shows few nabothian cysts largest measuring 6.3x 4.2 mm).
Could you please advise me, is this something to worry... or I mean, how should I proceed on this..(my normal Mens. cycle is 22-23 days for last 1 year) Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Follow this up closely!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.
With the diagnosis of a complex cyst, this must be followed up closely. Because there is also an infection noted, I will suggest that you go on with antibiotics first. After the antibiotics treatment, a repeat ultrasound to evaluate these cysts should be considered. If the findings remain same, I will suggest that this cysts be removed surgically and sent in for histopathology studies.
I hope this is guiding enough. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
