Question : my husband is 55 ,fairly healthy but in last few weeks has episodes of his heart beating very fast and hurting then it will pass for a few days checked blood pressure 153/78 XXXXXXX is 115

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that your husband has been experiencing. I have reviewed the information fully and this raises the possibility of an irregular hurt beat. For this, I will suggest that we get him examined by a doctor and an EKG strip obtained too see if there are any abnormal heartbeats. Depending on the initial results, more testing and referral may be necessary if the preliminary results suggest so. I will not want that you see a cardiologist first. A primary care doctor would be able to start the process and only refer if there are real reasons for that. The blood pressure value in itself is concerning but needs to be controlled again before concluding on any possible high blood pressure condition.
