Question : Hi,
My aunt had a fever on 22 October 2016, and was admitted to hospital as it haven't gone down even though she was on medication.
In hospital, tests were carried out which includes malaria and typhoid which came back negative. Even at hospital, the temperature fluctuated as high as 99-103 F.
Today (27th October 2016), dengue tests were carried out and the results were as below:
1. Antibodies:
IgM - NEGATIVE
IgG - NEGATIVE
NS1 Ag - POSITIVE
Haemotology:
Platelet Count - 33,000
Doctor analysed the report and said has dengue.
I am attaching the reports too and can you analyse if this is life threatening?

Brief Answer:
She is stable
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Thank you for posting your question on Health Care Magic.
Unfortunately your aunt has been diagnosed with Dengue and the reports show early onset of the disease.
Usually any platelet count below 50,000 is dangerous but not life threatening. Counts below 10,000 are considered life threatening.
Is she on caripill?
Hope she recovers soon
Best wishes
