What Does A Cyst Between The Vagina And Anus Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 1 Jul 2014
Question: I am 50 years old and about six weeks ago I found a while mass/cyst between my vagina and anus. It has growing in size since I've been monitoring it. I thought it was perhaps just an irritation from a water exercise class I have been taking. We can definitely rule out an STD due to a strictly monogamist relationship with my husband, with whom I have not had sex with in over three years. I see my Internist for regular routine well woman exams. This cyst has not cause me much discomfort for the most part. Please help. I am going to see my Internist tomorrow and would like some reasonable ideas for a dialog as to what this might be. I'm trying not to jump to any "serious" conclusions, but it's been difficult to find any info on the web, NOT related to STDs or cancer. It is a WHITE mass/cyst. (Typo on earlier submission)

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

I agree with your inference, its unlikely to be STD
From the short description given by you , I would consider the following probability as cause of your symptoms

1. Bartholin Cyst
2. Sebaceous cyst
3. Pilonidal sinus
4. Dermid cyst
5. Furuncle

I would require additional information about it for me to be able to assist you further
1. Is there discoluration of overlying skin?
2. Is there itching or pain?
3. Is the cyst elevated above the surface and seen or is it just felt.
4. Is there associated discharge

It would be very helpful if you could provide clinical photograph of the same which will be more helpful.

Awaiting your response

Take Care
