What Does A Painful Lump With Black Discoloration On The Hand Indicate?

Question : today as of apparently no reason i got a pain in my left hand and it kinda bulged into a little lump and now is black and blue with pain to the touch.

Hi and welcome. If this color change is localized then this is probably just a broken vein and consequent hematoma. if whole hand is purple and swollen then this may be sign of something more serious such as vein thrombosis and in this case you should do Doppler ultrasound to rule this out. otherwise, you can apply cold compress,elastic bandage and rest with arm for few days. wish you good health. regards
