Question : My 7 years old daughter has 4,65,000 platet count and she has Big Red spot on her body. What is the reason behind it ?
Brief Answer:
Purpura
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
It appears that your daughter is having non-thrombocytopenic purpura or palpable purpura.
Leukocytoclastic vasculitis (LCV), is the one most commonly associated with palpable purpura .
Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) is a subtype of acute LCV that is seen primarily in children and adolescents following an upper respiratory infection. The majority of lesions are found on the lower extremities and buttocks.
HSP needs to be ruled out.Consult a pediatrician.
If possible,post a close-up.
