Question : Hi I'm 37, female and have a slight dimple on my right breast. I am morbidly obese and don't wear a bra at home. Do you think it is cellulite or because of my weight? I don't feel any lumps. No history of breast cancer.
Brief Answer:
Mammogram is required
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns about dimple on breast.
The dimple is more likely to be due to cellulite as you have guessed. But it is necessary to get a mammogram done to see any cancerous changes in the breast considering your weight, age and dimple.
Mammogram is required to be safe as well as to screen breast for cancer.
I hope your doubt is cleared. Let me know if you need any more help.

Dr. Soumya

Dear Dr,
I will get a mammogram but I wanted to say that I can't feel any lump or mass.
Also, the dimple is only visible when I bend down. If I put my arms up you can't see it. So the dimple is not visible all the time.
Do you think it is most likely because I am obese?
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Obesity is likely cause
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for additional information.
The most likely cause is obesity and fat distribution leading to dimple.
But in obesity, it is difficult to feel small lumps. Hence I suggest mammogram to be on safer side.
