
What Does High AST Level Indicate?

Question : What are the possible causes of a mild high AST. I excerise 7 days/week. Iam 5'6'' and weigh 142 lbs. All other labs are normal. I take Lipitor once daily

Mildly increased AST may be non specific finding as other reports are normal.
It may be related to lipitor intake.
I don't think it is concerning.
It may be due to many reasons like hepatitis,kidney,lung pathology,drug toxicity etc.
You should continue your medicines.
You should avoid saturated fat.It is good that you do exercise regularly.
Take lot of fruits and vegetables in your diet.
