tight blood pressure and blood sugar control, ACE or ARB medication
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Protein in the urine can indicate that the diabetes and blood pressure are affecting the kidneys.
You need to maintain a blood pressure of 130/80 mmHg or less.
Your diabetes also need to under tight control to avoid further damage- fasting, premeal and post meal readings need to normal,as well as your HbA1c
The fasting and premeals should be between 80 to 130 and the 2 hour less than 180.
The HbA1c should be less than 7%, some persons aim for 6.5%
Your medication should also include an ACE inhibitor or ARB. These medications are kidney protective- they protect it from damage that can occur in diabetes
If you are not sure if you are currently using one of these, you can provide a list of your meds.
Also avoid any herbal or traditional medication that may damage the kidneys.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
