I shall assume that the WBC count you have provided means 2.6 thousand per ml when compared to the normal range of 8 to 11 thousand per ml.
There are numerous causes for such a low count some of them being.
1. Bone marrow suppression due to medications
2. Chemotherapy or radiation therapy
3. Myelofibrosis
4. Aplastic anemia
5. Systemic lupus erythematosus
6. Enlargement of the spleen
7. Folate and Vit B 12 deficiencies
8. Copper and zinc deficiencies
9. Malnutrition
10. Myelodysplastic syndrome ,Myelokathexis etc..
