Is It Serious To Have Plenty Of Puss Cells In Urine?

There are plenty of puss cells in urine. The patient is also suffering from myelodysplastic syndrome. Sine 2.75 years, he is surviving on blood transfusions - 4 to 5 uits every month. Today he haas been diagnosed of plenty puss cells in urine. What effect will this have on him? Is it serious?

I am sorry about the mds disease..

I being a surgeon, we encounter so many such cases where there is urinary tract infection, Uti along with other diseases.
But I suggest you not to worry..

There is no documented evidence of adverse effects combining mds and Uti.
As a patient, definitely it feels bad to know one more disease added!

Hence I suggest you these things..
1. Do not worry, Uti with plenty of pus cells is a common problem and can be treated effectively..
2. Get a urine culture sensitivity test done to see what organism is responsible for this uti and also to know the antibiotic to be given.
3. After getting this report, please start on the sensitive antibiotic and the uti should resolve..
