Question : Hi - I've been having bowel issues for awhile now. I've gone for test, MRI of stomach, bacteria test, colonoscopy etc... I probably went 7 times today by 10:00 am, then I end up getting constipated and might not go for another three or four days. There are times when I'm going to the bathroom, pass gas and it makes me dizzy. Sometimes my stool is like fragments. Today for example I felt lousy and then by 1:00 was better, this has become a trend, however I can have some good days in between! I'm not sure what to do?

Can be inflammatory bowel syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had gone through. Based on the history you have shared, it can be inflammatory bowel syndrome though this age presentation is less likely but still possible. You didn't discuss the reports of MRI and colonoscopy? it would be appreciable if you do. Also whether have you had the stool tested for routine examination and microscopy to rule out infective etiology. Using motility agents like domperidone or mebeverine may be helpful. Also use of SSRI drugs are found helpful once diagnosis is confirmed. Keep good intake if fluids and balanced diet to overcome water and electroytes loss. Usie of stool sofeners and Fibre use in diet may be needed as well during constipation. Hope this resolves quickly. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
