What Does My Widal Test Report Indicate?

Question: Hi

I have taken a WIDEL test and got
O (TO) Non Reactive
H (TH) Non Reactive
A,H (AH) Reactive upto Tutre 1:80
B, H (BH) Non Reactive

Could you please suggest, whether I am suffering from typhoid or any other infection.

Thanks for posting your query.

As per the report you are NOT suffering from Typhoid ( This test doesn't check for other infections ). But again this is not a very confirmatory test and can be falsely negative if tested within 3-4 days of fever.

So kindly let me know since how long you are having fever and on what day of fever this test was done.

Hi Good Evening Dr,

I am having fever since Sunday(17th July) evening. It came up in evening and become normal in morning. I am taking SUMO tablets as earler one of my doctor prescribed that to me.

Taken the test today morning.

Test result could be false negative.

HI

Thanks for the information.

So it was on the 4th day of fever you have got the test done . There is a possibility that the test result may be false negative. But as of now it can be considered as NO TYPHOID.

I recommend you to continue taking Sumo tablets and if fever persists for 2 more days then get CBC and IgM Typhi Dot test done and revert back with reports.
