Question: What causes 1 week long dark green stools in healthy 72 years old male? Recent blood tests were normal with borderline anemia.

You asking about causes of dark green stools in a healthy 72 years old male.
Regarding this issues I can say as follows:
- acute gastrointestinal infection
- candida overgrowth
- diet reached in green leave vegetables like spinach etc

Otherwise it would be great if you can send me a photo of stools so I can give a more accurate opinion.
It would be recommended in such cases to do fecal culture test plus fecal test for candida to rule out gastrointestinal infection.
Meantime I would suggest to use plenty of water and probiotics.
