What Does My Chest X-ray Report Indicate?

Question: My Chest X Ray shows bilaterial mid to upper lung scarring, fibrosis and bullious changes. They said it is suspected that the ankylosing spondilitis that is in my SI Joints is causing me to have ILD. Does this sound right and if so will it continue to progress?

Yes ankylosing spondylitis can cause changes in the lungs and ILD is one such change. Do you have any symptoms like breathlessness or cough? You need to undergo certain tests like spirometry, HRCT chest, diffusion studies and if pulmonologist feels, a bronchoscopy. Hence consult a pulmonologist for a complete evaluation.

It is difficult to predict whether it will continue to progress. However after complete evaluation, one may be able to know the prognosis.
