Question : Hi Doc,

My Total Cholesterol is 212 and my Glucose fasting is 231 and my A1C is 9.1

Right now, I'm taking 500/metformin in the morning and 500 at night with glyburide

Please advice Myrna YYYY@YYYY

Thanks for posting your query.

Clearly your blood sugar is very high, this indicates your medication dose is inadequate. ( Also your diet and exercise may not be optimum ).

I would recommend you to increase the dose of metformin to 1000mg at night. Also kindly let me know the dose of Glyburide and also your Postprandial blood sugars.

Total Cholesterol is slightly high , no need of medications for that. But I recommend you also get Serum Triglycerides and LDL checked and revert back with reports.
