Question: Hi ... i unwent ovarian drilling 2 months back due to pcos .And took clomid 100 mg first cycle n no monitoring. This cycle i had taken 100mg clomid and started scanning on day 7 since i cudnt visit doc before that. Follicle size was 7.5*5.5 mmin right ovary and left ovary.then they gave 75iui fsh injection for 3 days and follicle was 9.5*5.5 on left and no growth on right. Then she gave 150iui fsh for 2 days and today is day 14 and the follicle on right is 9.5*6.5 and left is 12.6*8.3 and 10.5* 10.

Is this good? Doc today gave 150 iui fsh and 75hmg and XXXXXXX also i gotta take the same. My endo thickness was 7.9 and they gave meds to increase that as well.

My uterus, tubes everything else is fine, m just so worried about this

Brief Answer:
Everything is good

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) You have good response to drugs and follicles are growing well.

2) there is nothing to worry as all looks well.

3) Endometrium at 7.9 mm is good enough.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Ok great thanks... i was actually thinking my hormonal imbalance will become normal after ovarian drilling ,but was quite disappointed when i saw my follicular scanning n doc suggested injections..how can i naturally try to balance my hormones? Does taking so many injections have side effects? Also can u let me know if bbt rise happens in anovulatory cycles as well? Because last month since i cudnt get scanning done i wasnt sure if i ovulated but had a bbt rise of .8 deg n it remained for 15 days or more until mid of my next cycle bleeding. So i was just wondering if i ovulated or not..can something else apart frm ovulation cause bbt rise for so long?

Brief Answer:
Natural method not possible

Detailed Answer:
Hi

There is no natural way to balance hormones. PCOS has effect only for 6 months.

After 6 months the benefits of drilling come down. Hence try to get treatment done by that time.

There is no permanent solution or way to balance hormones.

These injections won't have any long term side effects. So dont worry about it.

BBT rise generally correlates with ovulation but not reliable always. Hence dont trust it. You might have ovulated last cycle.

Thanks , got it.

I have another query , since I have PCOS and my LH levels are high is it possible that the follicle will rupture even before it reaches 18-20mm??

Also my follicle developments are slow , this is my 7th day of injections and below are the growth and injection doses. I was wondering for how long can u take hormone injections per cycle? Is there a limit or there is no harm taking until it reaches 18-20mm?
My problem is although there is growth, one follicle that has good growth today will not grow next 2 days and some other follicle would have grown by 4-5mm and so on. So since there is no consistency in a single follicle its taking a lot of time for 1 follicle to reach desired stage.
Please let me know how much of injections are good enough for body.

day ROvary           LOvary       FSH dose HMG dose
9      7.5*2.5          7.5*2.5      75

10                      75

11                     75

12     7.5*2.5          9.5*6.5      150

13                     150

14     9.5*6.5          12.4 *8.5      150      75
               10.3 *10

15                     150      75

16     12 *9          13.4*10      75      150
               13.4*11.7

Brief Answer:
Delayed follicular growth

Detailed Answer:
Hi

You may not need more FSH injections. Rather wait. Follicles will grow spontaneously in PCOS. Hence you need to wait with fewer injections as your follicles will come up little late.

Please scan and upload ultrasound scan as well as injection schedule details as it 8s difficult to read and interprit what you have typed.
