What Does My Sperm Analysis Report Indicate ?

Question: Doctor, can you review the semen analyis below, I am concerned as we have been trying to conceive for 2 years;

Time to analysis - 65 minutes
Vol - 2.4 ml
Apperance- opaque
Liquefaction - complete
PH 8
Sperm concentration - 79 million/ml
Motility: Rapid 37%
Sluggish 4%
non progressive 3%
Immotile 56%
Morphology Nornal 10%
Boderline 2%
Head defects 68%
Neck or midpieace 16%
Tail 3%
Agglutination 5% mixed

Thanks for your query.

Normal points:
Volume of the ejaculate is normal
Quantity of sperm is normal
Ph within range .

Abnormal points:
Motile sperms are less
Defective sperms are more
The shape and activity of sperms is not normal.

This report indicates there is a problem.Even in case of low sperm count motility and morphology (means the physical appearance) should be normal.This could be the reason for not conceiving.

A word of advise,for complete evaluation and to have some more idea it is always advisable to go for repeat examination after couple of months.

Observe abstinence for at least 3 days.Collection method and reaching lab in time is also important.

After the second report if that is also not normal you need to find out the reason for this .In mean time have healthy diet,avoid too much of stress.
