What Does Pain Under The Ribs Indicate?
Question: I have had a pain in my side for a few weeks. It is located about 6-8 inches to thr right , right under my rib. It also hurts in the same area of the back. It hurts more today. I have no fever. I do not think it is muscular.

You will need to be examined and probably do an abdominal ultrasound to look at these organs to see which of them is the cause of this pain. The treatment plan would depend on the initial findings and the final diagnosis.
Should the pain become severe in the interim, I will suggest you take a pain killer such as Tylenol 1000mg at most three daily.
In all, you should see a doctor and get an ultrasound of the abdomen to look at the various organs. Treatment would depend on the exact cause. It is okay to start with your primary care doctor.
