Question : I injured my thumb 15 years ago by bending it back, recently it has become much more painful. I've seen a specialist and had an ultrasound and corticosteroids injection but it is getting worse not better. is it worth booking a private mri scan? if so who do I contact to evaluate the scan?

Brief Answer:
You can show MRI to orthopaedic doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. You might have a tendon or joint injury. I think x rays can also help in this but MRI is gold standard.
Once you have MRI report you can show this to orthopaedic doctor. You can also send it to me. I will explain you in detail.
If steroid injection is not working then you might need surgery to take care of this problem.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks
