What Does The Growth Of Bacteria In The Semen Indicate?

Question: Hello Sir,

I have undergone semen culture test and the result shows the Ecoli bacteria and my physician suggested Levoday 500mg tablet for 3 weeks... am curious to know if this infection is clear,should i undergone test again please suggest.

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have done your Semen culture and sensitivity test and your physician has prescribed Livofloxacin for 3 weeks .

Normally it takes long time for complete eradication of infection of Prostate or Seminal Vesicle hence we recommend to take appropriate antibiotic as per culture rport for 4-6 weeks or till semen culture is negative for growth of any organisms.

Hence it is routine practice to repeat semen culture to be rest assured about the complete eradication of infection .
