What Does This Beta Hcg Value Indicate?

Question: Hello Sir, I am still not confirmed that I am in how many months of pregnancy , My last periods was on 15th Feb 2014, but after that i was advised by my doctor to take a B-HCG test on 30th march where the result showed only 82% HCG level in blood n was asked to repeat the test again on 5th April and the blood test showed 292% HCG present in blood , doctor advised me to take Gestofit 300mg SR for 15 days and to meet her on 15th April for Scan to find out is there any growth in baby, and she also told me that my pregnancy may be biochemical pregnancy , pls advice on it , I am really worried about my baby

Brief Answer: dont worry Detailed Answer: Hi As of now beta hCG value nearing 300 is good enough. I believe you will be carrying a healthy pregnancy. As if now I don't see any reason to worry. Thanks for the reply. But i was told by the doctor that the HCG level should be double the value every 48hrs, I was told that i should have atleast the HCG level 6000 depending on the weeks of pregnancy but mine seems to be too low around 292( on 30th march) . .Now I have mild abdominal pain since 2 days which is similar to the one which i used to get during periods earlier. Please Advice

Brief Answer: delayed implantation Detailed Answer: Hi If your ovulation is delayed and implantation is delayed there is possibility that beta hCG values were rising late. Doubling of beta hCG has to occur every 48 hours. But there is rise in your beta hCG though not double. Therefore it is very early to predict. Regards Dr. Mahesh Koregol
