Question : Hi, We are expecting our 2nd child due in XXXXXXX We had conducted TIFFA and Triple marker tests on doctors advice. While all the tests are normal, Triple Marker tests says that 'Probability of Edwards syndrome is 1/69 which is higher than the threshold of 1/369'.

Our doctor has asked us to go for further gene testing for confirmation. Could you please guide me if there is any alternative or possible course of action.

Brief Answer:
No other alternative advisable

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. The results of increased risk of Edward's cannot be ignored and further testing is advisable. Unfortunately the tests like amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling are invasive. There is no other way other than ignoring the current findings (not recommended).

Regards
