Brief Answer:
Heart beat in a developing fetus might be seen after 7 to 8 weeks

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. The heart beat in a developing fetus is appreciated by 5 to 6 weeks in a trasvaginal ultrasound scan an after 7 to 8 weeks in a trans abdominal ultrasound scan.

2. Your wife probably got a transabdominal ultrasound scan and a fetal pole of 7 weeks gestation was seen. You can upload a copy of the report for better understanding.

3. It is suggested to wait for 15 days and then do the scan again to look for heart beat. This is normal in many patients and we call them for another scan.

4. The medicine given by the doctor are recommended during pregnancy.

5. Please stay stress free and hopefully the heart beat will be there in the following scan.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
The report indicates an intrauterine normal pregnancy sac

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. I have seen the report and it looks like a normal pregnancy and many such scans are done by me regularly. Sometimes a machine with better resolution can pick up the fetal cardiac activity earlier.

2. If your wife does not have any bleeding and if she is comfortable and after discussing with your doctor, a transvaginal scan can be done but this is not compulsory if you can wait for another 15 days.

2. The picture is not very clear but from what I can see, the features suggest a normal sac. Right now there is no need to panic and we have to wait for another scan and that is to know the fetal cardiac activity after 2 weeks.

3. The medicine is to provide extra nutrients and can be continued.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
No special precautions in diet

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. I am hopeful that cardiac activity should be there in the coming scan.

2. If your wife has no pain or bleeding then there is no need to take rest. She can continue with her work. However XXXXXXX road travel is full of potholes and bumps and it will help if you are careful when travelling by two wheeler and go cautiously.

3. She can have normal 1800 kcal diet which healthy. Please get a hemoglobin level done to know if it is normal. Eating a fruit of her choice every day is good No special diet precaution is required.

I will wait to hear from you after the scan is done.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
