Question : I had a sudden, unexpected urine discharge. I had discharged about i/2 a cup of urine and I didn't realize it was happening until I felt the wetting of loose undergarment. Never experienced this before. Is this a serious problem?

Thanks for query .
Based on the facts and your age sudden involuntary passing urine could be due bladder spam due to enlarged prostate.

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.
4) Endoscopic examination of bladder (Cystoscopy)
5) Uroflowmetry .

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
