What is your prognosis?
Good prognosis with appropriate antibiotics.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query.
I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.
I have noted your mother-in-law's clinical details. Klebsiella pneumoniae responds well to antibiotics (such as ceftriaxone or meropenem). If kidney functions are normal, then, amikacin may be added. It should be continued for 10-14 days. With appropriate treatment, we expect good prognosis.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
Dr Sudhir Kumar MD (Internal Medicine), DM (Neurology) XXXXXXX Consultant Neurologist
