Halo vest is used mainly to treat cervical fractures and dislocations due to spinal cord injury by restricting cervical column mobility.

Halo is used for three months, it's success rate depends on anatomical characteristics of the column damage.

There is a 40% rate of success in cases with fascet joint dislocations and 70% rate of success in cases without fascet joint dislocations.
