                                            Question : Hi Doc,
Its me again. Hope you remember my case. I had a miscarraige in April. I had very high TSH(65). I have been on Eltroxin 100 since then.
My doctor had advised me to go for a Torch test post the next period. I got it done & the Rebulla and CMV igG were high. She said there might have been a recent infection but the igM are ok, however she gave me Rovamycin which I have to eat for 21 days.
My recent blood report shows TSH has come down to 6.72. The doc has asked me to continue with Eltroxin 100 for two months and after that we visit her & can start planning.
She said we will monitor your Thyroid levels and if needed we may send you to an endochronologist as well
Anyways, the reason I write to you is she has asked me to get an HSG done. I was reading about it and it says it is done when there have been repeated miscarraiges.
I believe my doc has asked me to do this as she is testing everything possible in my case so then I can go ahead with planning
I am feeling very nervous about the HSG procedure
Please let me know your thoughts, Doc. If you think I should take this test? If yes, can explain me the process in easy language & will it be painful?
Regards, XXXXXXX

HSG explained
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Hope you are doing well. I have read your query.
I am glad your TSH has come down to 6.72. Continue to take Eltroxin as advised by your doctor.
HSG is a simple test, although it is invasive. It is like taking x-ray. In simple terms, a XXXXXXX will be injected through your vagina and serial x-rays will be taken, and then studied.
Yes, please go ahead and take the test. Since you are seriously trying to get pregnant, there is no harm in getting it done.
The procedure is not painful. You may feel little uncomfortable since a probe would be introduced into the vagina. But relax; nothing to worry.
Wish you good luck. Please feel free to write to me anytime.
Take care!
