11 Months Old Not Taking Any Solid Foods. What Can Be Done ?

My son is 11 months old today, he was born 8 weeks early. He weighs 19lbs 12oz and is about 28'' tall. He is still not eating solid foods. He is only breastfed. I have been trying to introduce solid foods for about 2-3 months now. with no success. ( he is my 5th child so I do have mothering experience) When he is given a small spoon he opens his mouth for the first bite. Then refuses to open for any more. I have try to trick him, when he starts to babble I will put the spoon in. after about 5 minutes or less of this he really cries (A LOT). Within 10 minutes he is spitting up. He also spits up A LOT after nursing. But he is not fussy or crying and is generally a very happy baby. I have taken him to two different massage therapist they both said they could feel that his stomach was tight and twisted. But after each of them had worked on him the spitting up was worse. I also took him to the pediatrician she thought he was fine.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

This type of aversion to solid food is common in children who are forcefully fed.

I advise you to feed him with love and patience.

Don't force him for feeding.

Hold him gently, roam around the house and slowly feed him with soothing words and playful gestures.

As there is no problem with the child on pediatrician examination, nothing to worry.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
