13 Year Old Having Pain In The Abdomen. CT Scan Showing Mild Hepatomegaly, Fluid In The Pelvis. What Is The Treatment?
13 year old girl with pain on right side of abdomen has had ct scan in November 2012 which showed only mild hepatomegaly ,, small amt of fluid in the pelvis . Ultrasound two weeks ago found nothing but slightly enlarged liver, small amount of free fluid adjacent to the right ovary, pancreas head was not visualized because of bowel gas. Pain is every day and some days with great severity. Ate a fatty dinner tonight, fast food and is having a lot of pain in the area. What do I do next???

In her age commony cause of abdominal pain is gynaecological disorders so this is the first thing to rule out. fluid in pelvic may indicate pelvic infection or ovarian cysts. the best way to evaluate this is to do laparoscopy so if pain persists it should be done. Ohe possible causes are hepatitis or gastritis and more detailed work up should be done to detect exact problem.
