15 Year Old Child, Popping Sensation In Chest While Breathing, Sensation In Chest While Inhaling. Any Ideas?
Hi. My daughter is 15 years old. She says that every so often when she is breathing in or out she gets a popping sensation in her chest. She describes the popping feeling like when she stretches her back and her back cracks. She says she gets that sensation in her chest while exhaling or sometimes inhailing normally. Please let me know what this is. She says it's not painful just very annoying and uncomfortable.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C. M. Forum. Perhaps she is feeling whistling sound during inhalation & exhalation ( whistle type sound during breathing). The reason is due to allergy , hence called as allergic rhinitis ( or sinusitis or bronchitis). This is a common complaint due to allergy. Mite, dust, pollen , molds, fumes, spray, smokes, fine dusting powder, sudden rise & fall of temperature are predisposing factors of this disease. Avoidance is the best way. If symptoms are bothering then get 1-2 tablets of antihistamine or bronchodilators. Hope I have provided desired information. Good luck. Dr. HET
