18 Month Old Son, Swollen Purple Thumb, Pus, Painful. X Ray Shows Tissue Damage. Should Thumb Be Pricked To Ooze Pus?

Hi my 18month old son has a swollen purple thumb and it has pus as well, I took him to the doctor who gave me antibiotics and he refered me to the hospital, x-rays were done and shows that he has tissue damage bt and was refered to another hospital to orthopeadic who didn't help us, my son is playful but at night we don't sleep because the pain is unbearable, he can no longer use his finger I don't know what to do. Should I prick his thumb so that the pus comes out?

Hi,
It seems that he is having acute infection in his thump and requires proper treatment.
Consult surgeon and go for proper debridement, cleaning wound with proper pus drainage and regular dressing.
Continue with antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines.
do not try doing dressing at home.
Ok and take care.
