Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My baby girl is 2 weeks old. She sweats prefusley. Her head gets soaked and her hair gets matted. Her face gets greasy and her body is always hot to the touch. This occurs when breastfeeding , sleeping, holding, awake. She spits up constantly, about a tablespoon worth. She spits up a few times a day. She also coughs, sometimes weezes a little, and will breathe fast and then slow. Are these normal newborn characteristics, or should I be more concerned.
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
How is her activity, feeding and urine output and her weight gain? If these are normal nothing to worry.
Reaspiratory variation is normal some times low in sleep and increased during alert and excited stage and it usually vary between 40 to 60 /minute.
But persistent high respiratory rate is abnormal.
Consult your Pediatrician to discuss these issues, for complete examination including cardiovascular and respiratory system to exclude any problem.
Hope I have answered your query.
