2 Year Daughter, Staph Infection, Color Changing From Pink To Dark Red. Taking Antibiotics. Suggestions?

my two year old daughter went to the ER on wednesday for a Staph infection on her labia major. It was dark pink/reddish color over the whole labia since she started the antiobiotics and draining slowly over the past two days. Today the color is dark red about 1/2 inch radius from the lancing incision. The drainage is definetly heavier today. Is this normal progression?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

The colour can be dark red and suggest a healthy granulation tissue forming subsequent to the drainage. Discharge shall continue for some time till healing takes place. It may appear to be more initially and gradually reduce.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter an early recovery.

Regards,
