3 Year Kid, Not Having Food Properly. What Should Be Done To Make Him Eat Solid Food?

My niece's 3 year old son will not eat anything but formula, water, apple juice and rice cereal. He is a twin and his sister eats a variety of foods and has been developing skills sooner than her brother. My niece said the doctor feels he is average in his abilities and doesn't seemed concerned. Could this possible be an issue with his development? What should she be doing to help him eat solid foods. He won't even eat icecream or candy.

Hi and thanks for this query.

Kids always tend to refuse what they are not familiar with. Trying over and over is always the right thing to do.. Always propose these different varieties to the child before bringing what he likes. Avoid sweetened stuff and so many snacks in between meals.

No, it is not a developmental issue. Keep trying and try harder.

Hope this answers your query...
Wish you and your niece's son good health.
