Dear anju
Self medication can be harmful as the medicine may not treat the disease and yet may have complication…
Doses of medicines do differ for indication and severity of medicine…
Temporary control of fever is achieved with above medicines and effect may not last 8 hours.
As fever may be due to one or many of thousands of causes… its not true that you may get rid of problen by knowing dosages.
Dossages are rather atechnical part and for both thea se drugs dose is approximately 140 mg of paracetamol and or 60 mg of mef not more than 2 times a day.
Paracetamol is safer than mef. And can at times be given 4 times a day if so has been instructed by a doctor with a writtenp
Hi
You have not mentioned the strength of the crocin syrup (125 or 240 mg?) you are using..
The dose is 10 mg per kilogram per dose / given every 4 to 6 hours
In between, if the fever goes up - you give tepid sponging > tap water (not ice water)
Meftal-P is another medicine with similar action -
- the dose is 25 mg per kilogram per DAY in DIVIDED does
