4.5 Months Old Stool Test Shows Pus Cells, Had Diarrhea, Fed On Cow Milk And Lactogen. Worried ?
MY BABY IS 4.5 MONTHS OLD. COW MILK AND LACTOGEN IS BEING FEED TO HIM. THE DOCTOR SUGGESTED FOR A ROUTINE EXAMINATION OF STOOL AS HE IS SUFFERING FROM DIARRHEA FOR LAST 3-4 DAYS. THE REPORT SHOWS THE PRESENCE OF MUCUS , PUS CELLS = 4-6, COLOR=YELLOW, CONSISTENCY=LOOSE, OVA=ABSENT, CYST=ABSENT, RBC s=ABSENT, PH=5.5, OCCULT BLOOD = ABSENT. KINDLY ADVICE ME REGARDING THE SAME, IS THERE ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT?
Hi
As your child having diarrhea and stool examination showing 4 to 6 pus cells it is suggestive of gastroenteritis. Give oral rehydrating solutions sips orally to prevent dehydration and consult your Pediatrician for assessment and furthur specific treatment for infection.
