45 Yrs Old Has Rashes On Her Face. But Its Been A Week And She Still Has Fever. Is It Possible To Get Measles Again ?
My mom(45 yrs old) has fever for 7 days now; she has rashes( mosquito bite like spots) on her face , and chest . The fever doesn't subside! She was taken to a doctor a couple of days back, who says its measles, but its been a week and she still has fever. My mom had measles in her childhood, is it possible to get measles again ? are these measles symptoms ? Please help, Thank you ~Paul
Welcome to Healthcare Magic Let her have lot of fluids like water, lemon juice and other fruit juices. Has a test been done to confirm measles. Usually measles provides life long immunity. You can consult with an infectious disease specialist to confirm that it is not other viral illness. Anyways in most viral illnesses it is only supportive therapy. Rest and fluids. If she develops any bleeding spots under the skin, she must be taken to the Doctor.
Dear Dr. Aashish,
My mom is given lots of juices and diluted milk, thanks to you. She is not weak but has body pains. Her fever stays at 102F most of the time. The fever reduces to 100F~101F when paracetamol is given.
Do her Blood/Urine tests prove positive for measles?
Thank you,
