5 Year Old. Foul Smell From Nose, Mouth, Brown Discharge From Left Nostrils. Reason?
Symptoms. Foul Rotten smell coming from nose , and mouth, Brown bloody discharge from left nostril , Left nostril seems extremely congested. Now there appears to be small red pustular sores forming around my 2 year old sons mouth. History - +5 days The G.P states he has a wax build up in one ear and wants to syringe it (Yesterday) Childrens Hospital doctor states it a virus (Tonight)..!!!!

As there is foul smelling bloody discharge from left nostril the first thing to rule out is any foreign body.As children keep rubber, cotton,small batteries and others in nostrils while playing and after some days the foulsmeeling and bloody discharge occurs. So consult your Pediatrician or ENT Specialist to look for any foregnbody in the nostril and to look out any other reason of foul smelling discharge.

symptoms suggest upper respiratory infection,he needs to be evaluated for this and will need a course of antibiotics for this,moreover foreign body inhalation also needs to be ruled out.
