6 Month Old, Sweating Mostly While Sleeping. Tests To Be Taken?

I have a six months old boy that sweats a lot the past 10 days mostly while sleeping and nursing. He is dressed very lightly and the room is not too hot. His weight intake is very good (around 50th percentile since birth) and it's length is above the 93rd percentile. HC grew a bit more than the expected this month. Just to make sure it's normal what tests can we do?

Hi,

Sometimes when the child is growing well above the average range there is a possibility of developing calcium deficiency which may lead to over sweating.Hence test recommended could be Sr Calcium,Sr Phosphorus and alkaline phosphatase.

Most of the times Paediatrician might empirically start calcium supplements during this time without investigations .However it is advisable to get him thoroughly examined by his doctor before starting him on calcium supplements.
