6 Year Old, Patch Of Skin On Leg, Itchy, Red. Prescribed Steroid Cream, Got Worse

My 6 year old has had a patch of akin on his leg which our doctor gave him a steroid cream for. We applied it for the prescribed length of time which improved the patch but once we stopped using it the patch has gotten a lot worse. My son says it is itchy and has been scratching it. It looks very red and angry and today several pus filled spots have developed on his leg around the original patch of red skin. I'm very concerned about it- please help!!

Hi,

Please go back to the doctor as it seems infected ans he may need antibiotics externally and may be orally also.

This can happen from scratching the lesion.

There are many conditions which can cause this including insect bite allergy

Good luck
