9 Kid, Burning Sensation In Penis. Had Gone For Swimming. Should I Meet A Doctor?

My 9 year old son has been complaining of a burning sensation when he goes to the bathroom in his penis. it has only been 2 days of the complaint. Should I take him to the doctor right away or see if it clears up?
We were swimming all weekend and I just thought it was from the chlorine in the pools we were in. I don't want to ignore it if it could be serious. He is the type of child who HATES going to the doctor and has asked me 100 questions on what the doctor will do.

Hi,

The burning while passing urine could be due to irritation from chlorinated water in the swimming poor or due to urine infection.

His urine to be given for complete urine examination and for culture to look for the presence of infection.

Ask him to drink plenty of water.

Consult the doctor for examination and for management.

Your child might have contacted some Urinary Tract infection, To know the exact cause one should go for the urine analysis and culture.
And child should be treated according to the urine report.Plenty of water will relieve the symptoms better.
