Hi doctor, My baby girl is 9 mnths old. She is taking lactogen 2, cerelac, vagetables and fruits. But for the last few days it has been observed that she is not willing to drink lactogen any more. We started with NAN2 which she also refused and after that we switched over to lactogen. Now same thing is happening with lactogen. Please help.

Psychiatrist Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar's  Response
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

As babies keep growing, their taste and food preferences keep changing. This is normal and you don't have to worry much about this. After 6 months itself babies can be started on home cooked foods gradually. Also, it is not compusory or essential that babies should be given formula feeds. I would suggest that you start giving your baby nutritious home foods like rice, dhal, vegetables, egg, curds, etc. These will contain adequate nutrition, plus the baby is more likely to enjoy these because of the variety of tastes.

Wish you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar

You can try cows milk instead diluted as 2:1 with water, you may add sugar for taste instead.
