9 Month Old Kid Is Having Cold And Is Vomiting Couple Of Time. Is It Normal?

my 9 month old is getting over a cold and this morning he coughed and gaged himself and threw up a couple of times after a feeding. He has had a couple of colds already but nothing like this has happened before. What is normal for a cold and when would I need to take him to the ER?

Hi,

Cold is a normal thing. The child should be taken to hospital if there is high-grade fever, rash or respiratory distress or loose motions or disturbed consciousness level.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi, General & Family Physician
